With a bitter, aromatic, slightly tart flavour and a strong lemon scent, it is used in small quantities to flavour drinks, fruit salads, fresh salads, omelettes, meat and fish. It is also used to flavour liqueurs (which, in addition to its pleasant taste, are said to aid digestion), wine and vinegar.
A hardy perennial that thrives in any type of soil, although it prefers loose, deep, rich and well-drained soil. It can be planted in full sun or partial shade. It does not require frequent watering.
